Ted the Cat Speaks His Mind

Last week, writing about the passing of the author Erich Segal, I introduced to our readers our cat, Ted. When I went to write today’s post, Ted was sauntering past me on his way out.  He had a suspiciously casual air about him. Sitting down at the computer, I was surprised to find the following words already on the screen:

people don’t understand me
not that I could care
i lead a rich interior life
the food is bland
i like the couch though
hate juliet
i read about salinger’s death on the paper by the litter box
famous authors seem to be dropping like flies
time was I could bat a fly out of the air with a paw
like a flash
tasty
but now I figure what have I got to prove?
typing question marks on a keyboard is work enough
two paws at once
whew
not so nimble these days but the mind’s still a razor
need half a gig just to store my self-esteem
where does a cat save his thoughts?
on the c drive
bless my soul I feel good today

I can only assume that last week’s taste of celebrityhood merely whetted Ted’s appetite. I’ll be sure to leave the computer on in the future in case he’s caught the writing bug.

  1. Ha. Next thing you know, Ted will be hogging the remote. He's obviously a C-Span addict as he likes to nap.

  2. This voice sounds familiar.
